A compilation of tools I love, and other things I recommend.

I used to never knew where to start when I'd begin a new project. Over the years, my friends have shared tools to leverage and I've built a repertoire of things I find useful. Let me know if you have any more you recommend!

Working Basics

  • Notion

I started using Notion because I wanted a one stop shop to organize my life. For me, it's like my notes app, but way more aesthetic/useful. Use it for school, work, journaling, personal stuff, literally everything!

  • Poised

If you're looking to improve your public speaking, whether it be in simple conversations or up on a venture stage, Poised was really helpful for me to receive feedback immediately and daily. It's a plug-in for virtual meetings that provides you with live feedback as well as more detailed reflections after the meeting. They're in Beta right now so check them out and let them know your thoughts!

  • MS Office Suite

I used to work corporate and have unapologetically become an Office Baddie. I'm a big supporter of Excel and Outlook, **IF** you have a PC. With a Mac, the hotkeys are less expansive (at least from what I've discovered), but with a PC, you can literally make magic happen with your efficiency. Hit ALT and watch your life [change](#). Also with VBA, you can make macros customized to your needs. Simply _unreal_.

Mech Eng Design

  • SolidWorks

For 3D Modelling (CAD). SolidWorks has assessments you can take to become certified. We took the SolidWorks Associate Certificate in school.

  • ANSYS

For Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Can also use HyperWorks, but in school they taught us ANSYS.

  • Energy3D

For simulating the design of renewable energy systems.

Web Development

  • Figma

For UX/UI design. We did a lot of Figma prototyping for Planni, which helped us test idea validation without spending hours coding the real thing.

  • Vercel

For hosting **free** websites like this one. Just pay for the domain name.
